Kick off Halloween weekend with a one-of-a-kind nighttime trail race! Put on a costume, grab a headlamp or flashlight and bring the whole family to the inaugural Bones 5K on Oct. 30!

The course features winding single-track trails, sandy sections, root-covered grounds, and beautiful wooded scenery that becomes even more magical at night. The forest will be decorated for Halloween, and while you may run into a few surprises along the way, this event is designed to be family-friendly.

The event includes professional chip timing, prizes, and an unforgettable evening for runners and walkers of all abilities.

Register by Oct. 2 to guarantee your exclusive Bones 5K shirt, featuring a skeleton-inspired design.

The Bones 5K is proudly presented by Algonquin Ultras in partnership with Wicomico Recreation & Parks.

• Time: Check-in begins at 6 p.m. Race starts at 7 p.m.
• Registration Fee: $35 through Friday, Oct. 2, 2026; $40 after Friday, Oct. 2, 2026

Registration

• Runners registered by Friday, Oct. 2, 2026 will be guaranteed a long-sleeved race shirt.
• Pre-registration is available through Friday, Oct. 23, 2026 at 5 p.m.
• Register on race evening between 6-6:45 p.m. Cards only; no cash.

Packet Pickup

Pre-registered runners can pick up their race bib and shirt at the Wicomico Civic Center box office on Tuesday-Wednesday, Oct. 27-28, from 8 a.m.-5 p.m. Shirts are only guaranteed if registered by Oct. 2; others are first-come, first-served. Packet pickup is also available race morning.

Awards

There will be awards for the following categories:

• Top 3 Overall Male/Female
• Top 3 Youth Overall Male/Female
• Best Costume (Individual/Group)

Additional Information

• Event is rain or shine.
• Dogs are not permitted on the course.
