Recreation & Parks Department 75th Anniversary Celebration Dinner

Wicomico County’s Recreation & Parks department, which now also encompasses the Wicomico Civic Center and the Tourism division, is celebrating its 75th anniversary in 2021.

The County will honor this milestone with an anniversary dinner on Saturday, Sept. 11 at the Wicomico Civic Center in Salisbury.

The event will feature the premiere of a documentary-style short film chronicling the history of the department. Filmed in the spring, the documentary features stories from people involved with the department’s evolution, including staff, volunteers, community members and elected officials.

The evening will also include a cocktail hour and dinner. Doors open at 5:30 p.m. and dinner will be served at 6:30 p.m.

The evening’s menu features:

  • Crab Dip Appetizer
  • Roasted Baron of Beef with Au Jus
  • Chicken with Sundried Tomato Pesto Cream Sauce
  • Oven Roasted Potatoes
  • String Beans with Carrots
  • Garden Salad
  • Rolls and Butter
  • Chef’s Dessert Table
  • Coffee Station
  • Cash Bar

The anniversary dinner is open to the public. Tickets are $15 per person, inclusive of fees. Tables of eight are also available for $105 (must be purchased in a single transaction). Ticket sales open Friday, July 16 at 10 a.m. and close Thursday, Sept. 9 at 11 a.m.
