WinterPlace Park & Equestrian Center
WinterPlace Park is Wicomico County’s largest recreational area, encompassing over 377 acres of land. Located just off of Route 50 across from Perdue Stadium, the versatile park is easily accessible to locals as well as those traveling from out-of-town. Because of its size and convenient location, WinterPlace Park hosts many of Salisbury’s large events and festivals, including the Wicomico County Fair. For more information on these festivals, please visit www.wicomicotourism.org.
In addition to being ideal for large events, WinterPlace Park is also a great spot for sports and general recreation. It is equipped with a walking and cross country trail, a pavilion, permanent restroom facilities, and a playground area. The park property also boasts:
- 2 softball fields
- 4 baseball fields (home to the East Wicomico Little League)
- 2 soccer/lacrosse fields

Wicomico Equestrian Center
WinterPlace Park is also home to the Wicomico Equestrian Center, the area’s premier equestrian facility. Encompassing 18 acres - the Wicomico Equestrian Center offers 4 large rings - 2 of which are irrigated grass and 2 are sand. The grass rings are approximately 60,000 square feet a piece and separate schooling areas. The main barn offers 42 stalls with pine walls, sliding doors and rubber flooring. There is an additional 10-stall barn with metal gates, which has recently been refurbished. In addition to these amenities, the Wicomico Equestrian Center can also provide 3 full jump courses, standard dressage letters and fencing and trail obstacles. The grounds include an integrated sound system, event registration building, parking for numerous horse trailers and vendors and 8 electric hook-ups for campers.
