Wicomico Memorial Field
Wicomico Memorial Field, home to the Salisbury Colt-Palomino League, is located on Civic Avenue across from the Youth and Civic Center. The Colt-Palomino League is part of PONY baseball, a national program which stands for “Protect Our Nation’s Youth”. The program’s mission is to provide experiences in youth baseball and softball that will help young people grow into healthier and happier adults. The Colt-Palomino League (also known as CP Combined) is for players 15 – 19 years old. For more information about the league, please call 410-219-9277 or visit www.pony.org.
Wicomico Memorial Field provides the league with a lighted baseball field with dugouts, bleachers, and an electronic scoreboard. The field is not maintained by the Department of Recreation, Parks, and Tourism but it is still considered a county park as significant funding was provided in its development through Maryland’s Open Space Program.
This park was funded in part by the Maryland Department of Natural Resources Program Open Space Grants.
