Westside Community Center

Membership at the Westside Community Center is very affordable and provides you with many benefits such as free access to drop-in programs, discounted program fees, discounted rental rates, and monthly newsletters. Plus, it’s an easy way to show your support for the center! Membership dues help offset the rising costs of our youth programs, need-based services, and building expenses.

Volunteer and Instructor Information

Volunteers and instructors are needed for youth and adult programs during afternoons, evenings, and weekends. Program activities include Arts and Crafts, Sports, Science, Homework Help, Music, Drama, Dance, etc. Junior Counselor positions are also available during After School Program and Summer Camp for volunteering teens. Financial assistance is available for all youth programs for qualifying families. Please contact the center for more information.

After School Program

Children in kindergarten through eighth grade can take part in the after school program and participate in sports, games, arts and crafts, computer time, homework help and much more! Summer Camp

Come join us for a summer full of fun and adventure on the Westside! Campers will enjoy wacky theme weeks and a wide variety of activities in our air conditioned gym and computer lab. This year will be full of camper favorites such as swimming, box hockey tournaments, capture the flag, horse back riding, gardening club, climbing wall and plenty of face painting! Plus, campers will take weekly trips to Cedar Hill Park where we will BBQ, go fishing and crabbing, and enjoy the playground. We will also take tons of field trips including the pool, the Zoo, Assateague, Frontier Town, Wallops Island and more. For more information, please contact Joy Klauder or C.R. Teen Conditioning and Pre-Season Preparation

Designed for teens, the Westside Community Center soccer camp provides great opportunities for them to really step up their game. This high school preseason preparation emphasizes not only on conditioning, but basic tactics, and match play as well. Come out and see what a camp like this can do for your game! Youth Instructional Camp

August 17 – 21

Ages 6 – 11

As part of a player development program, this camp provides an introduction to all aspects of the game such as positioning, tactical play, and communication. It continues to develop participants as it emphasizes on mastery of basic offensive and defensive skill techniques and how they are applied to match play. For more information, please contact C.R. Senior Program

Monday and Wednesday, January 2 - August 19

Seniors can sit back and talk with friends over coffee or participate in group activities like bingo, puzzles, card games, arts and crafts, movies, computer classes, and even field trips. Bingo Night

1st and 3rd Friday of Every Month

Feeling lucky? Come play Bingo at the community center and win cash and other prizes. Plus, enjoy new games like Quickie Bingo, U-Pick-Em, and Pull-tabs. Jackpot $75.
