On December 2, 2008, the Department of Recreation, Parks and Tourism
will honor the individuals that make it possible to provide the
community with quality programs and special events.
Want to nominate a volunteer that you know for an award? Look for
information soon regarding the nominating process.

A special Community Award will also be presented to a volunteer with
two or more years of service with a recreation related organization
other than the Wicomico Recreation, Parks and Tourism.
All nominees will receive free admission to the awards ceremony and
dinner.

7th ANNUAL AUTUMN WINE FESTIVAL
Featuring wines from more than 19 Maryland Wineries along with
local cuisine, arts and crafts and live jazz music, the Annual
Wicomico County Wine Festival will celebrate it's seventh anniversary
Saturday and Sunday October 17 and 18, 2007.
The Wicomico County Autumn Wine Festival is the only of four such
festivals sanctioned by the Association of Maryland Wineries.
A full schedule of events, along with band biographies, information on
wineries and vendors planning to attend the event, and hotel specials
will be available on the Autumn Wine Festival website

11:00AM-6:00PM on Saturday and 12:30PM-6:00PM on Sunday.

Fishing Derby
The Annual FREE Fishing Derby, organized by the Department of
Recreation, Parks and Tourism in conjunction with the Salvation Army
Youth Club, The Maryland Department of Natural Resources and several
local business sponsors will be held at Salisbury City Park next June.
Children 15 and under may register and are eligible for the "Biggest
Fish" contest as well as other special prizes. Participants should
bring their own fishing rod and bait.
No advance registration is necessary and there is no fee. For more

Pemberton Historical Park has teamed with Adrenaline High Inc. to
offer a variety of exciting programs and getaways this summer. Join us

2008 ANNUAL CHILDREN’S PET FAIR
The annual Children's Pet Fair will be held next July at the Wicomico
Civic Center. The popular community event is open to children ages 18
years and younger and is free to all participants. Participants can
enter their favorite pet in the dog, cat or miscellaneous categories,
and compete for trophies and bragging rights.
