Regulations for Parks and Recreational Facilities with Schedule of Fines


Advertising - No sign, notice, literature, loud speaker, or public address system is permitted in park without a permit.

Alcohol - A permit is required if alcohol is served.
A special permit is needed if alcohol is sold (Section 179-11 (A).

Animals - Owners of animals shall comply with the provisions of the animal control law including: dogs must be on leashes, owners must clean up after their pets. Riding of horses, ponies or other animals is prohibited except in those areas designated. Grazing is prohibited except by permit.

Automobiles -A person may not wash, repair or perform other work on any automobile except in case of emergency.

Pavilion use - Pavilion use with more than 12 people requires a permit.

Camping - No person shall camp on park property except by permit and only in designated areas.

Commercial Activities - Peddling, soliciting or conducting of any business, trade or occupation including the taking of photographs and motion pictures for commercial use is prohibited except by permit.

Firearms - No persons, other than a law enforcement officer shall carry or discharge a fire arm on park property except in those areas designates for such purpose.

Fires - No person shall build any fire except in barbecue grills. Fires shall be thoroughly extinguished prior to leaving site and no charcoal is to be dumped on the ground.

Fishing - Fishing is permitted only in designated areas and in compliance with State law and posted rules.

Flora & Fauna - A person may not catch, molest or kill any wildlife or disturb any nest, burrow or den or any animal or fowl. A person may not remove or destroy any flora without permission. Planting or digging is prohibited except by permit.

Gambling - All games of chance are prohibited unless a special permit is issued (Section 179-11 (A).

Hunting - Hunting and trapping is prohibited on park property except by permit.

Golf -Golf practice is prohibited on park property.

Littering - No one shall dispose of refuse of any kind except by placing refuse in a container provided for such purpose or dispose of any refuse that is not a result of use within the park.

Obstructions - Persons shall not congregate in or about any public structure that hinders proper use thereof. Enclosure of areas or erection of any structure is prohibited without a permit.

Private Instruction -A person may not conduct private instruction or lessons where a fee is charged without a permit.

Trees - No person may cut, saw or remove any live or dead trees from park property except by permit.

Swimming - Swimming or water sports are prohibited except at designated areas.

Traffic & Parking -The operation of all motorized vehicles shall be incompliance with all applicable laws and regulations. Instruction from a Department employee or police officer to reduce speed, stop, alter direction or to remove it from a restricted area shall be obeyed immediately. A twenty five (25) mile per hour speed limit shall be adhered to unless posted otherwise. A person shall not operate any motorized vehicle on park property or streets. Commercial vehicles, with the exception of taxis and service trucks on call to disabled vehicles, shall not be operated on park property with out a permit. No person shall operate, stop, stand or park a vehicle that blocks any bicycle, hiker, bridle path or access road or when the park is not open to the public. Parking is permitted only where designated. Any illegally parked vehicles will be removed at the owner's expense.

Watercraft - No person shall operate or launch any watercraft except at locations designated for such purposes.
