Pemberton ParkA stroll through the grounds
of Salisbury's
Pemberton Park is like a trip back to the eighteenth century.
Marked by a period plantation home and heritage, the 262-acre park
boasts 4.5 miles of self-guided natural trails, hardwood forests,
meadows, wetlands and fresh water ponds.
Pemberton Hall was built by Isaac Handy and his wife Ann (Dashiell) in
1741 and was one of the first established in Wicomico County. Recently
restored by its present owner, the Pemberton Hall Foundation, the
building maintains its original design.
Visitors have the opportunity to explore the culture and heritage of
Wicomico County through a variety of regularly scheduled programs
including tours, camps and special events.
Informational brochures are available in the recently renovated
contact building located near the parking lot. For more information on
tours and programs offered, visit

Those interested in helping to preserve the county landmark are
invited to join the Friend's of Pemberton organization.
